I tested the repeater function with TomatoUSB by Shibby about half an hour ago and to tell the truth, the set up here is so easy. I would say it is a lot easier than DD-WRT.
My requirement on this repeater router is just a couple things :
After tried TomatoUSB by Shibby for a few days, I think it's quite a great firmware. So, I start this tutorial for anyone that want to try to use it.
1. Download the Firmware by going to shibby website at http://tomato.groov.pl/ Point to DOWNLOAD, then, click at TOMATO FIRMWARE
First of all, I want to make sure that the reader knows that all the content here is from my own experience. Please try it yourself if you want to really know about it.
Are you expect the top of the line router from Cisco, EA4500, should be the best? Well, It could be. But now, you may have to think again carefully after Cisco released and updated firmware of Cisco EA4500 from version 2.0.37.131047 (Classic EA Series Cisco Connect Firmware / NON Cisco Connect Cloud) to EA Series Cisco Connect Cloud Firmware Version 2.1.38.138143. Most routers got upgraded automatically when it is connected to the Internet.
